Chief Executive Officer
Andy Schmidt is a passionate storyteller in all its forms, synthesizing content, concept and creativity with sound business expertise to drive new products, profits, and brand portfolios. He’s adept at managing complex and multi-partner relationships from concept through commercialization.
Between working at Marvel Entertainment, IDW Publishing, and Hasbro, Schmidt was instrumental in reinventing The Avengers, G.I. Joe, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, X-Men, as well as Marvel’s “cosmic” heroes in Annihilation, a project largely credited for the re-launch that led to Marvel’s 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy feature film. He was creative lead on Star Trek, Transformers, and Dungeons & Dragons comics, creating powerful and lucrative film tie-ins and award winning content. While at Hasbro, Schmidt oversaw story-content for the Transformers brand across all media outlets—everything from packaging, to video games, to animation and licensed goods—any place there was a story to tell. Schmidt re-developed many of Hasbro’s “vault” brands, preparing them for Hollywood producers and directors and positioning them for bigger-than-ever launches. In 2007 Schmidt created Comics Experience, a storytelling education business that is now the comic industry’s leading online educational institution.
In 2013 Andy created B+E Solutions where he believes the B+E team can give small, medium, and large companies the proper balance of creative vision and brass tacks business sense.
